WE GOT THE GRANT

Earlier today, the following email was sent out to community members on the City's email list. The state has officially offered the HomeKey grant necessary to fund the Benton Project! We're beyond excited. 

Stay tuned because we'll be needing your support! There will be a Final_Final(1) vote in City Council in the near future.

July 2025 Update Regarding the Santa Clara Family Community (Lawrence/Benton Interim Housing Project)

Dear Community Members,

We are reaching out to provide you with an update regarding the Santa Clara Family Community (Lawrence/Benton Interim Housing Project). Earlier this week, the Governor announced that this project will receive $25.7 Million in State Homekey funding. Today, the County issued a press release  with information about the award and the project.

The project will have 30 units of temporary housing for families and will be able to accommodate approximately 100 to 120 people experiencing homelessness. Onsite services will include case management and resources for health and wellness, employment, education, and housing search.

Now that Homekey funding has been awarded, the partners will be working to establish a Community Advisory Committee that will be open to all interested community members and will meet regularly starting in Fall or Winter 2025. This will provide an opportunity to receive updates regarding the project and provide feedback and any concerns or suggestions.
